On Monday (March 11th, 2019), Google announced its second batch of 10 startups selected for the highly coveted  ‘Google Launchpad Accelerator’ program in India.

This is a global acceleration program that helps startups build and scale their products by matching them with the best of Google - its people, network, and technologies.

The shortlisted startups will go through a two-week intensive mentorship boot camp conducted by Google, followed by virtual technical & product support (tailored specifically according to the specific needs of each startup) for an additional 6 months.

Opentalk is one of the 10 companies, selected for this prestigious mentorship program. Opentalk is a burgeoning social voice communications application (available for Android & iOS) with over 1,000,000 users (across 100+ countries) and hosting more than 5 Million minutes of talking every month! Opentalk’s aim is to make the world a better place by connecting people from around the world and facilitating conversations that revolve around fostering friendly relationships with users from other countries, enhancing communication skills, learning new languages (with a core focus on English, though other languages are also available), exploring study/career options and almost any other topic you can think of. The possibilities are limitless.

Opentalk selection to Google Accelerator is testament to the fact that what we are solving for has impact on billions of people around the world irrespective of any biases.

We are very excited for being one of the fortuitous companies to be selected for this exclusive program and we can’t wait to make the world Better by Talking, with the mentorship of Google.
