Let's talk about the company. You started earlier DesKix Labs. What was the company about tell us quickly? So the DesKix can be broken down into desktop units, right? So I was I and my team were providing unix desktop and linux desktop support for these training centers, like testing automation training centers and couple of small startups are the small start-up. So we're using linux predominantly for the desktop machines like ubuntu like fedora and some of them have red hat service. So we were providing support services to them. That was Deskix plans here. So what went wrong? So the thing is I was pretty young back then. I didn't know how to make deals and you know probably have legal stuff ready with everything. So a lot of word of mouth deals happen and it was going fine until it was going fine. But then 2008 US meltdown happens and I think everybody was in C and they didn't pay us because they found out that hey this is a there's a kid that we have. Oh big bills to but then it's okay if you don't pay it, probably even if goes to court will take him 10 years. So let's not pay him. I think that was the mindset and I got trapped in there and ended up with having just eight or nine to peace in my bank account. So that was kind of horrible and frustrating for me back then yeah, so that's what happened. How much money did you lose a couple of lacs yeah know it kind of looks small right now in start-up turns but back then for me at 19, but it was almost nine to ten years ago couple of lacs is huge my friend. Yeah back then. Yeah. So tell us what are the top three lessons from your first startup? Okay, so if I were to put them in order one is words don't mean nothing. So basically until you have the money in the bank. It is not yours. Second thing is Money Management, very important. You should plan ahead and do money management and third thing is the absolute importance of finding a good co-founder that has your back as well as is passionate about your business. Just as you are great. So words doesn't mean anything Until you got cash in your bank. It's not yours and cash flow management and co-founder. So I will pick up on the third one. Tell me what makes you say your third one about the co-founder. What else experience do you have? Right, so, you know at 19 jumping on to build a business how even though you could consider yourself smart among the crowd still you would have some of these learning is humbling learning that you cannot run everything in the business. You cannot handle every aspect of the business. Alright, so you need somebody to be the second deal Duncan's the business out, you know, if you weren't making the deals of yesterday on a funding you were handling text of somebody has to do the marketing. You cannot absolutely as achievement. If you do not distribute work to quality people that's not gonna happen. So that's where you need. The proper cofounder you need employees are not never going to take. Even I think it's very rare to find employees are going to take responsibility like that the be a cofounder can take responsibility. Okay. So if you are picking a co-founder today, what would you look for in a co-founder. How do you pick for one? I've actually been super moto 360. So yeah, my only one criteria is he must be a doer, you know, once I say this there's a mushroom of things that happen, right? So me and my co-founder right now, even we argue over stuff and we fight over stuff but then next day we don't have any personal grudges on each other because we both know in our hearts that we are arguing and fighting for the product, you know for the company for the product so that that in the next day the person should become the should be able to come back and do stuff and be the person should be able to manage his own tasks and do stuff. So to put them umbrella of things. I would say a doer is what you need to find it not a talker ever is what you need to find in a co-founder great. So, okay. You said you launched the first company at the age of 19 at 21? Yeah, I mean it started at 19. And yes, we have 21. Yeah. So at that point you are working at CSC, right? So why my friend why did you want to launch your own company? Why entrepreneurship for you? So I was a part of this foss group free and open-source software groups a couple of hacker groups, you know, so moving around with those people. I think they have had a little bit of influence besides. I think I was getting pretty bored of with my desk job, which I think didn't give me the challenges that I needed. So I said, okay cool. I'm young still maybe I could take risks now, which I couldn't take later. So I just jumped in and said, okay. Let's see how this goes because I'm very this thing with my life, you know, they're very erratic with my life. So yeah, you almost started the same time as a flipkart did Yeah Flipkart did and I think even I knew when RedBus also started because I remember Redbus they were just operating out of their apartment back then and they came to give a talk One of the team members came to give a talk in my conference moved in so we gave them the slot after keynote of the Bhavin Turakhiya, he is the CEO of what do you call. This company which does domains in India after the huge company big rock another the parent company of the big rock. I forget the name. Yeah, okay.
